Meet your Physio
Growing up bouncing between the Bay and the Ocean, Sam has now made the permanent move to the Surf Coast. After graduating university, Sam moved to practise Physiotherapy on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Whilst returning back down south to cold waters and freezing winters has been a shock, Sam says there is no place like home. Outside of work you can find Sam lifeguarding on the beach, surfing (now with a hoodie and booties), or running the trails between Lorne and Bells.
Sam completed his Physiotherapy degree with Honours at Monash University. Sam has practised in Queensland alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Exercise Physiologists to treat and rehabilitate patients with an array of sporting injuries, orthopaedic presentations and chronic pain cases. Prior to commencing full time work, Sam worked closely alongside Physiotherapists at the Alfred Hospital and spent his weekends in the community working with NDIS patients.
Sam is a qualified ASCA Strength & Conditioning Coach with a strong skill set for prescribing exercise programs and return to sport plans. Sam has worked with a range of different sporting clubs from soccer to paddling in Melbourne. He believes physical activity is vital for both physical and mental health and strives to help all patients foster a healthy and sustainable relationship with exercise.
Research is a strong passion of Sam’s. During university Sam was selected to be in the advanced research group enabling him to complete his final year project individually and become first author. During this program Sam examined the neurological adaptations that occur following strength training. Sam loves to research and present on the newest available evidence

How Sam can help you
Sam’s overarching goal is to make sure that every single patient who walks into the clinic feels that they have been listened to and validated. Sam wishes to empower his patients to understand more about their condition and all available treatment options so that they feel in control. Sam also loves to work with patients who have health and fitness goals or simply want to get stronger and fitter!
