Paul Gilling

About

Paul is a very experienced physiotherapist with a masters in Neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy.  He ran his own clinic in Melbourne for 27 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to Marna Physio – Ocean Grove.  He has two children who are very involved in the sport surf lifesaving which brought him to live on the Bellarine Peninsula.  After recently working in Pt Lonsdale, we are pleased to welcome him to our clinic.  Paul’s interests outside of physiotherapy are as a puppy development carer for Vision Australia where he is currently raising his 5th puppy Marlo.  Paul generally will have his guide dog puppy in the treatment room during consultations as part of their education.

Experience

Paul graduated as a physiotherapist from Lincoln Institute in Melbourne in 1986.  He worked at St Vincent’s hospital Melbourne for 2 years gaining valuable general physio experience. He then travelled overseas for 2 years through parts of Europe, Asia and South America.  Whilst overseas he worked in the UK as a physiotherapist. Upon returning to Australia in 1990 he completed a post graduate diploma at La Trobe University in neuro musculoskeletal physio.  This course is now recognised as a masters of physiotherapy.

His work experience since then has involved starting up and running his own private practice in Warrandyte Melbourne for 27 years before making a sea change to Ocean Grove.

Clinical Interests

Paul enjoys the challenge of assessing, diagnosing and treating clients with neuro-musculo skeletal problems. His special interest is in treating spinal (neck and back) dysfunction and problems.  He is a manipulative physiotherapist and has strong manual skills.  He has extensive experience with sporting injuries and exercise prescription.

Paul can help you with any musculoskeletal injury or pain.  He has many physiotherapy techniques developed and learned over years of treating clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and from many different sports.  He has a gentle and calm nature and gains pleasure in seeing his clients becoming pain free and be able to enjoy life.
